Arlington Heights is one of the smaller neighborhoods in downtown Portland and is surrounded by the Goose Hollow, Portland Heights, Southwest Hills, Sylvan Heights, & Westover neighborhoods. The best way you might describe it is as a neighborhood in the park because much of the neighborhood is park space and a far cry from the hustle and bustle of downtown Portland located a short drive away.

Overview
Arlington Heights has a beautiful mix of classic Portland homes as well as newer homes all set in a quiet residential setting. Homes range from English cottages to more contemporary styles. Considering it’s location, Arlington Heights has some amazing views and with all the parks in the area there’s always something to do.
You won’t find much for public transit nearby. The only bus in the neighborhood is the 63-Washington Park which runs a winding route from PGE Park to Washington Park and the Oregon Zoo. Businesses in the area are typically comprised of professional services including interior design, lawyers, doctors and the like. The largest employer in the area is probably The Oregon Zoo located just off highway-26.
Highway-26 and Burnside are going to be the quickest ways for most anyone living in Arlington Heights to get to and from anywhere. If you’re not in much of a hurry to get around though, the are a lot of trails running throughout the neighborhood (most going downhill) all the way from the Oregon Zoo to Pittock Mansion and on up to Forest Park, though be mindful that the walk back home may almost entirely uphill.
