How long will the home be listed for?
Our auction program is generally for a period of 90 days (half the time of a standard real estate listing contract). This allows 30 days for aggressive marketing, property preparation, showings, and inspections. 30 days for qualifying buyers, negotiating offers, and buyer’s to do due diligence. The last 30 days or less would be for the title company and seller to transfer a clear title to the home buyer and move out!
We also offer 30 and 60 day auction programs that are the same program with shorter time periods. This is time effective but not necessarily cost effective due to a short advertising period. Homes with shorter advertising periods seem to produce lower results. Through intense research, 90 day listings seem to produce the best results.
Does Portland home auction do short sales?
Yes. We specialize in short sales, foreclosures, REO’s, Bank owned homes. These are not ordinary real estate transactions and should not involve an ordinary agent. Hire a specialist.

Portland Home Auction offers services to both individual home owners and builders. Multiple properties are not required to sign up for our auction program. Our strategy is diverse enough to apply to one home or many homes. We tailor make each of our marketing plans to your home and the market conditions to overcome the challenges in the home selling process.
Does a home owner have to accept the highest bid offered?
No, most homes are sold with an “undisclosed” minimum reserve price. You set your bottom line and control the negotiating process.
The reserve price is undisclosed. If an offer comes in lower than the reserve price. We automatically counter back at the reserve price. With multiple offers on the table auction buyers tend to up bids and get into a buyers frenzy which in return may result in a sales price higher than your reserve price.
Does my home get entered into RMLS?
Yes, RMLS plays a vital role in the marketing of the auction. RMLS is the number one way to reach the highest amount of qualified buyers in the area. Even if your selling on your own. Find a Realtor that will enter your home into the RMLS without representing you. It’s a flat fee and usually is under $500.
How do I get started?
First:
You must contact an agent at Portland Home Auction. You can email Aaron Majors directly at: soldbyaaron@gmail.com to schedule a free and quick evaluation of your home and see if your home qualifies.
Second:
Once an evaluation of your home is complete, you will receive the market value of your home (how much it’s worth in “this” market). You will also get an auction price. This is the price range that your home will start out at auction. The last figure you’ll get will be the suggest starting bid. This will be a low amount to attract savvy home buyers.
Third:
Sign the paperwork and get your home entered into the auction program. Sell with good results. Quickly and efficiently.
